What the byline means
Research and production can involve the site operator and contributors who assist with market research, data collection, source checking, analysis, technical implementation or editorial review.
Not every page is worked on by multiple people, and the byline does not imply a fixed full-time staff roster. It identifies the research and editorial function responsible for the published work rather than inventing individual author profiles.
How we work
Start with the real market
Define the relevant licensed or current brand universe before ranking it, and keep exclusions or uncertain cases visible in the research record.
Prefer measurable evidence
Use comparable popularity signals where they are defensible and avoid turning missing or ambiguous evidence into false precision.
Check before publication
Validate rankings, important product facts and source mappings before they become part of the public comparison experience.
Keep money out of rank
Affiliate commission, commercial preference and editorial convenience do not change popularity ranking order.
Methodology and accountability
Each ranking should be understandable as a documented research output rather than a hidden editorial score. The methodology can differ where markets or available evidence differ, but material assumptions, limitations and uncertainty should remain visible.
See the Methodology for the current scoring principles and the Editorial Policy for the rules separating research and commercial relationships.
